Greek tax representative

Someone who holds a Greek tax number without living in Greece must appoint a representative inside the country. What the tax authority sends goes to them, and they pass it on. This is not an optional extra; it is a condition attached to the number itself.

  • A legal condition of holding an AFM
  • Billed yearly, with a reminder before it lapses
  • Notices received in one place and passed on
  • Handled remotely
  • Registered in Greece
  • Set up with the AFM
  • Flat annual fee, VAT included
  • We chase the renewal, not you

What the year covers

Registration as your representative

Recorded with the Greek tax authority against your AFM.

Receiving official notices

Anything the authority sends arrives at the representative’s address rather than going astray because you are elsewhere.

Passing it on, in plain terms

Forwarded to you with what it asks for and by when.

Renewal reminders

A reminder before it lapses — a gap in representation affects the standing of the tax number.

Who needs one

  • Anyone holding a Greek AFM without living in Greece
  • Golden Visa holders whose life is still elsewhere

Common questions

For a non-resident, yes: it is required at the point the AFM is applied for. It is not something we add on; it comes with the number.

Once you are tax resident in Greece a representative is generally no longer needed. Tell us and we will handle the change and stop billing it.

No — they are separate. The representative receives and relays official notices; the annual return is what the tax-filing service does.

The role is to receive service of documents and relay them, not to assume your tax liability. The exact boundary is set by the engagement document, which we go through before you sign.

Simplest set up alongside the AFM

If you do not yet have a Greek tax number, the two are usually done together. If you have the number but no representative, or the arrangement has lapsed, tell us — fixing it costs less than leaving it.

Price: €150 / year
